St. Paul, MN)  --  The number of people killed in snowmobile accidents in Minnesota this winter now stands at 16, more than double the figure at this time last year.  The DNR's Mike Hammer says the majority of the accidents happen as a result of mixing alcohol with night-time sledding.  Hammer also says a solid snow cover across the state and the highest number of registered snowmobiles in nearly a decade has contributed to the fatality spike.
